The impact of habits

Throughout the journey there are a lot of ways to give a definition of life. One of them is to find two things that exclude each other (duality). For example: light and dark. Where there is light there is no dark, therefor everything that exists is either light or dark, never both and never none. Another example (the one that explains this series) is the duality of: yourself and things that are not yourself (a very efficient way of defining life is saying something and then everything that is not that thing). Now the things that are not yourself are the things that are harder for you to change. But you can easily change yourself. Want to know how? proceed!

Changing yourself.
Mental habits
You are the result of everything that has had an impact on your own life. Every time something happens in our lives we change the way we behave. When someone breaks his promise, you probably will not trust him next time he makes a promise. When someone keeps his promise you probably will trust him even easier or more next time he makes one. These are what I call mental habits, the things you believe you should thing in certain situations. (I recommend you to read that again, there is a truth in it).

Physical habits
This is another way of changing yourself. Physical habits are about doing the same thing a lot of times. When we drink water for 7 days in a row, there is a big chance we will do it the 8th day as well. But it can also be negative, when we watch 8 hours of television, we will probably watch television another our if we can. This is less healthy and not recommended.

The answer of change
This is the honey of this story, the holy grail of this post. How do we change our habits? Well easy, just do or think them. Start by drinking one glass of water, do one push up or run for 100 meters. This is easy to do and will feel like a victory. The chance is big that after a victory, you will drink another glass tomorrow and that will make it easier for you to drink 2 the day after.

Thank you
