is there a purpose in life?

Large groups have been trying to get to know their selves, they have been searching for some kind of answer to a question that is way too large for an “answer”. The definition of an answer states that it is the reaction to a question. I would like to know my answer before this question is finished, because reacting would mean we would wait on our lives to finish before knowing what we are supposed to do. We need to understand what we can do with our lives without knowing for sure how it will go.

What we need
If I would want to know something I would first think of what I can change. Let us listen to Michael Jackson for a moment and say that we would look at the handsome man in the mirror first. This is the only person that we can directly change. This would mean that we NEED to be able to trust the mirror man. Our future self needs to listen to the self of the now, for otherwise we could never plan our lives out. And we would never be able to make long term decisions. But guess what, our future self does not exist, the only thing you can actually directly change is the person in the mirror at this exact moment. Which is now over.

Let us say our future self does exactly what we say he needs to do. Now we still do not know our paths. We need to be able to make a choice about where our paths go, we need to take our pencil, grab a map and point out where we want to go. We need to set an intention and actually take steps towards it. Now we have made a path for ourselves. But we still do not know whether this is the right path or not, this is my daily struggle.

The concept of time
Through my short life I have changed my goals over a thousand times (at least ten times more than my age). Logic would state that the paths I have chosen were wrong, yet they have not led me back to the beginning. That never happens. This is because of the concept of time, it forces us forwards through time (for as far as I know). Time never lets me be at the exact same place. There is always some change. If any path is right, the paths that led you to that path have been right as well. In some way I have never strayed from it, even when I did nothing, even when I slept. I do not know what the truth about life is (yet), I am also one of life`s students. But I like the idea that our paths are right, no matter what happens. It gives me energy to go chase my current goals, whether they are right or not.

being ourselves

We can now safely state that walking your path is not about the path itself but about the person that walks that path. Now that we know this we still know nothing (and we never will). But in our realm of limited understanding, we can still try to grasp at what is to be understood within it. We do not know anything for if you would ask me what is real or what is not I could not answer. I only know the things I have created and those are the only things I know enough so that I could explain them to another without lying to them. The things that I have created all lie within myself, never have I created anything else out of nothing. The only thing I have ever changed is myself and even that is not a fact, for I do not know whether I was this person I am now all along. Let me get to the explaining quickly!

What we know about the world where our path lies
Let us look at what we know of our world. Do we know whether water is water? No because we only call it that, a see through liquid substance would be more certain. Do you know whether your friend Paul is your friend Paul? No because it might just be someone that looks exactly like him. Do we know what path to follow? Certainly not. Now do you know that you are you? Well, yes because you are who you are (we might be possessed by another person but then again at this moment I am who I am none the less). And do we know what we want to be like? Yes because when we know who we are, we know what this person would do as well.

Just follow the signs
The only thing we know in life is who we are ourselves. We might also know the things we want (to be(come)). We know water will not float in the air because of our previous experiences. We know Paul will keep our secret because of previous experiences as well. And even our path might be hard to walk because it had been before. But those things might change. We can change as well, but at this moment we can make the choice to be who we want to be at this moment. The person we need to get to know is our self, for we are stuck together and we decide each other’s footprint in this world.

Thanks for reading.

How to walk your spirit path

When we start to grasp what a spirit path is, we can begin the search for our own path. The thing is that being alive automatically means that you are on your path. The only thing you have to do is to know that you are alive and that you can do with your life or path whatever you want. Then we can start to think about where we want our path to go. And by following this path consciously we can achieve, while we are figuring out how this thing works.

Achieving or growing
Going through life, a lot of us feel like if they set a goal and pursue that that their lives would be complete. But this would be like the tree that grows towards the sun in one thin line without enforcing its roots and trunk. This tree will probably fall down because of the wind. Now if we would go through life thinking about where we come from and what strengths those roots gave us, we would be like the strong tree. This three will be less tall, but has a way larger chance to reach the sun. I like to set a goal and grow in the direction, not set a goal and try to achieve it.

How to walk the path
The way to walk the path is really unimportant. What matters is who you are and who you want to be(come). It is about the person that walks the path, for that person will choose whether the path has any use or not. When you know the person you are, you probably do not even need a path, for you then would choose the direction you would go. Not the direction the path leads you. The path has now become the direction you walk and the purpose of who you are.

Thank you.
