The immortal idea: aggression and peace

One important thing to knowing how life works is knowing that it ends. But if our time on earth is limited, does that mean that we are only useful for a certain amount of time? You probably guessed the "no" right. We do have a way to change the present, and I believe that the present has an influence on the future. Therefore everything we do changes the future. I answer upon that fact that we should mind our actions.

The power of an idea
Our actions change the future, every action creates a reaction which creates reactions of its own. Now this chain of reactions can be stopped by another action, but as long as someone else knows of the chain of reactions he can start it over again. When someone wants the chain of reaction to go on an idea is created. Even when you consciously start the chain with your action, there is an idea for then you wanted to start it. a chain of reactions coming forth from an idea can only be stopped when there is no one with the idea.

Reasoning
When the chain of reactions is stopped while somebody still has the idea. The idea will eventually make the person act in favor of a new chain of reaction. Even the smallest action from this person will start another chain of reactions.

Example
The continuous wars and other aggression between humans are a good example of such an idea. There is the idea of the possibility of attacking other humans when it benefits us. Or even when it benefits an idea (religions are a popular excuse to wage war). This aggression continues forever when there are still people who think they might attack others. When there is no one left who thinks it is beneficial to hurt others, there will be no aggression. Mind this though: an idea can be created by imitating or creation. I have covered imitating in this post, but creation is another subject which I want to explain.

Creating an idea
It is impossible for a creator to create something when the creator does not exist. God could not have been created by something else (following the bible) since he was the first being to be alive. This means it must be possible to create things in another way, there is the possibility that things may be created out of nothing (which had to be true at some point in time), but this is really hard to think about and a lot to read. So lets talk about the other way creation can be done: by combining 2 or more things, another thing can be created.

Example (2)
To go back to the example of aggression, let us say there are no beings left with the idea of aggression. Now we have a world of total peace. This world exists of craftsman, rulers and traders. One day a trader enters the great city of peacetown, he meets another trader and decides to trade. Their price will be completely equal since they would not know how to hurt each other by giving the other the unfair price. Yet it might be so that one gains more from the trade then the other. Here an agreement has been made and both traders are content.

The baker works all day, he is honest and tries to make the best bread possible. There is another baker, he tries his best as well but is a bit worse at baking bread, he wants to become better than the other baker, the idea of jealousy is formed. It might result in hurting the other baker to make his own chances of becoming the best baker larger.

The ruler is a good man who always wants the best for his subjects. He wants to build roads for them to make travel easier, he wants to give them entertainment in the form of cinemas and he also wants to enable them to make food. The roads cant be build by the ruler for he has no money, he has to come to an agreement with the populace, they ought to give him taxes for the roads. But the people who do not want roads also will have to pay, which is equal to hurting them. Now the last problem is even larger. This world is fully inhabited by other creatures with their own territories. One day peacetown has no way of expanding its boundaries without taking territory from other creatures. But they do not have enough room for farms. This means they have to either take territory (which would hurt other creatures) or let the populace give in to having hunger or at least make place for new farms by having less cinemas.

These examples show how people are easily tempted to hurt others. Yet the hope lies within these examples as well. The traders have agreed on their prices and are therefore not hurting each other. The bakers do not have to hurt each other because they could also just strive to become better than the other by improvement, co-operation or learning from the other. And the ruler can also do these things, he can agree with other creatures to buy food and letting the creatures go to their cinemas, then war would have been prevented.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed.
